Uniduto Logística S.A was established in 2008 by a group of Brazilian ethanol producers to improve the logistical infrastructure for fuel produced in Brazil. Based on private pipeline transportation system, collection and distribution terminals and ports, Uniduto’s infrastructure enables its users to be more competitive in both domestic and international markets. Over 80 industrial plants that are associated with 10 major ethanol-producing groups are already members of Uniduto.

With investments of around R$ 3 billion, the company shall begin its activities in 2013, moving a major part of the country’s ethanol production from the Southeastern, Midwestern and Southern regions to the large consumer centers, both nationally and abroad.

The Uniduto project is comprised of a pipeline network, with collection centers located in the region of Serrana (SP), Botucatu (SP), Anhembi (SP and Santa Bárbara d’Oeste (SP); two distribution terminals for the domestic market, one in Paulínia (SP) and in Caieiras, in the São Paulo Metropolitan Area; and one export terminal in Santos region (SP), where the company’s own off-shore port will be operating. Integrated with other means of ethanol transport – via railways, highways, waterways and coastal shipping – Uniduto plans to ship ethanol from the main production hubs in Brazil to consumer centers in São Paulo, for export and coastal shipping.

Companies that use the service provided by Uniduto will certainly become more competitive in both domestic and international markets due to the pipeline’s numerous advantages. Society as a whole will benefit from the social and environmental gains that will be realized starting in 2013.
